European enterprises are moving agentic AI from pilots toward business operations

By Oct 2, 2026

European enterprises are beginning to look beyond generative AI assistants toward systems that can take actions inside business workflows.

Agentic AI can connect reasoning models with enterprise data, applications and business processes, allowing agents to perform tasks rather than simply generate responses. That creates a larger implementation challenge because organizations need to consider governance, security, data access and integration alongside the underlying AI models.

Deloitte’s 2026 State of AI in the Enterprise research found that agentic AI is expected to have significant impact across areas including customer support, supply chain management, research and development, knowledge management and cybersecurity. At the same time, Deloitte says organizations need governance, data architecture and operating models designed for scaling agents.

This is creating demand for consulting partners that can connect agentic AI with existing enterprise technology. The challenge is especially relevant for companies with complex application estates, where AI agents need controlled access to legacy and modern systems.

Best agentic AI consulting companies in Europe

Sonata Software is building its agentic AI strategy around enterprise workflows rather than standalone AI applications. The company was recognized as a Microsoft Frontier Partner in March 2026, with Microsoft highlighting its capabilities across AI, cloud and business solutions. Sonata’s portfolio includes AgentBridge for enterprise agentic workflow orchestration and Harmoni.AI for responsible first generative AI adoption.

AgentBridge is designed to help enterprises introduce AI agents into business operations while maintaining governance and observability. Sonata’s current approach combines agentic AI with Microsoft Fabric, Azure AI and enterprise applications, allowing agents to work with governed data and existing business processes.

The company is also connecting agentic AI with modernization. Its Frontier Workbench uses AI agents for application discovery, reverse engineering, code generation, testing and deployment, while its modernization framework is designed to turn legacy applications and fragmented data environments into modular, AI ready architectures.
