The first edition of the MeOut Summit takes place in Budapest on November 25 and 26, bringing founders, investors, corporate leaders, and policymakers from across Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and beyond to Akvárium Klub, the cultural venue on Erzsébet Square in the heart of the city. Organizers expect more than 1,000 attendees, and more than 60 speakers have already been announced.
The summit is organized by MeOut Group, a Budapest-based company working across innovation, education, and entrepreneurship, together with the team behind EU-Startups, the Barcelona-based startup news site MeOut acquired in 2025. It also hosts the final of the Central European Startup Awards, the regional leg of the Global Startup Awards, another part of MeOut.
“Through Global Startup Awards and EU-Startups we’ve worked with ecosystems across Europe for years,” Tamás Tüske, the summit’s Innovation Director, told EU Reports in an interview. “MeOut Summit gives that network a physical home in the heart of the region.”
What the summit wants to achieve
Tüske describes the summit as an answer to a gap. “Europe has plenty of big startup events, but most sit in the West and North,” he said. Central and Eastern Europe, he added, “produces strong founders, deep engineering talent and real companies,” but seldom hosts the kind of event that draws international investors, corporations, and policymakers in large numbers.
The organizers want to change that by bringing “the capital, the partners and the decision-makers to Budapest,” so that fewer of the region’s founders feel they have to leave home to build global companies. The summit also aims to connect “two worlds that usually sit apart: the startup community and the people who shape policy and corporate strategy.”
Tüske told EU Reports the first edition will be judged by the conversations it starts rather than by its size: founders meeting the people who back them, international guests leaving with a reason to return, and startups, corporates, and policymakers “in the same room talking about what European founders actually need.”
What’s on the program
The agenda runs across two stages. Speakers include Prezi co-founder Ádám Somlai-Fischer, SEON co-founder and CEO Tamás Kádár, and Tresorit co-founder István Lám, alongside investors from funds such as OTB Ventures and 3VC. On day one, a panel titled “Hungary Is Back: The New Momentum Behind the Hungarian Startup Ecosystem” features Ágnes Fábián, Hungary’s state secretary for economic development.
Founders raising money can follow a session on funding from pre-seed to Series A, a Pitch Marathon featuring ten selected startups, and a Startup Arena run with HunBAN, the Hungarian Business Angel Network. Day two adds ScaleUp Fest roundtables and masterclasses, plus the finale of the BizHack AI marketing hackathon. Attendees also get access to a matchmaking platform to set up meetings before and during the event.
